The Type 1C Shuttle was a long-range version of the standard Type 1.  It could achieve sustained speed of Warp 2, and reach Warp 3 in emergencies.

The internal layout was adaptable allowing for personnel or light cargo.  The aft compartment in the Type 1 is removed in this version to cut down on weight.  The lavatory and food dispenser was relocated to the main cabin.  The small aft engineering compartment still exists and can be sealed off to function as an emergency airlock.

To carry freight all seats are removed with the exception of the pilot and navagator, but capacity is limited to only 5 metric tons.
