USS PEGASUS

After more than a half-century of mistrust and open conflict, the United Federation of Planets and the Cardassian Union have established not only peace but fledgling alliance. The Federation's unwavering commitment to the stability of the Union and Cardassians' own desire to end generations of turmoil has led to the Second Treaty of Bajor, effecting the disestablishment of the Cardassian Military and the formalization of Cardassia as a Federation protectorate.

Now Starfleet turns its attention to the distant borders of the Cardassian Union known as the Kovak Expanse. The Expanse is a new frontier for Starfleet, containing a wealth of independent worlds and bordered by the hostile Breen Confederacy and Tzenkethi Coalition. It falls to Starfleet's 611th task group, the Olympus Group, and the group's flagship, the Aventine-class USS Pegasus, to keep the peace, explore a new frontier, strengthen the Federation-Cardassian relationship, and defend the Federation and Cardassian borders.

The Pegasus and her fellow starships operate from the distant Kovak Nor space station in orbit of Septimus III.
