Welcome to the USS Cambrian!

Welcome to the USS Cambrian. We are a Star Trek RPG Simulation under Sixth Fleet. Our mission to explore the Star Trek Universe, to go where no sim has gone before, and to have fun while we're at it. If that sounds like what you want, send us a line. We would love to talk to you about getting onboard.

Well, that's a wrap.  The Cambrian's story has come to a close.  It was an honor and pleasure to write the sim's fonal post with you guys.  I was the one to launch the nebula-class Cambrian-A, so it seems fitting that I'm also involved in her end.  Though I do wish circumstances were otherwise and the old girl could live on.  :(

At any rate, here we are.  For your exceptional effort in supporting me with that, franky epic JP, in the middle of the holidays and everything, I'm awarding the last of the crew the Cross for Courage and Loyalty.  In addition, if you have not been awarded it already, please wear the Hurucan Sector Campaign Ribbon, and if you have been awarded it already, please add a bar to your ribbon.

It has been asked if there will be a Decommissioning Ribbon for the Cambrian.  I have been considering it, going back and forth for the past month or so.  I believe I will award a USS Cambrian Decommissioning Ribbon to those individuals left aboard.  As soon as I have a ribbon made up and have it up on the wiki, I'll let you guys know.  :)

To sum:

Lt Anna Heinz, Lt Grendon, and Lt(jg) Gran Velas are awarded the following:
Cross for Courage and Loyalty
Hurucan Sector Campaign Ribbon
USS Cambrian Decommissioning Ribbon

Wear them with pride.

Thanks guys, I hope to see you down the line again.  And have a happy holiday.  :)

» [FNN News] Memorial Service Information for Lyn

Posted on Wed Dec 5th, 2012 @ 11:22pm by Admiral Reece Savage in General News

Mark, Lyn's husband, has provided the information on Lyn's memorial service. Rather than simply post the time and place, we've decided to post Mark's full message.

"For any and all who wish to know, the memorial for Lyn Merical Mosher will be held this coming Friday, December 7th from 1100 until 1200. It will be held at Allison Funeral Home on 10141 Colerain Road in St Marys Ga. It will be a simple gathering of friends and family to honor the memory of my wife Lyn. All are welcome to attend should they wish to. Thank you to everyone who has sent messages during this impossible time. Even though I haven't responded to most of you, I have been reading them and I do appreciate it."

Sixth Fleet will be taking a collection from around the Fleet and sending it to Mark to help with the costs. If you would like to donate please contact the DCinC Reece Savage at dcinc@sixth-fleet.com.

» [FNN News] In Memorium, Lyn Merical Mosher

Posted on Tue Dec 4th, 2012 @ 8:37pm by Admiral Reece Savage in General News

Yesterday, a much-loved member of our fleet, Lyn Merical Mosher, passed away. Lyn was a long-time simmer who brought much to the fleet and her presence will be missed. Today her family and her husband Mark -- who is also a member of our Sixth Fleet family -- are deeply in our thoughts. Lyn will be inducted into the Hall of Remembrance -- our way of honoring her memory forever forward -- and we hope those of you who knew her (and even those who did not) will take a moment to reflect on her passing. If Sixth Fleet is made aware of funeral arrangements for Lyn we will pass those along to you.

Steven Marriott, a long-time friend of Lyn's and a prominent member of Tango Fleet, has written a statement we'd like to share with you now:

Monday 3rd December 2012, will go down as one of the worst days of my life. I woke on the 4th to a series of message from people I have known for over a decade informing me that my dearest friend, Lyn Merical-Mosher had passed away.

I was introduced to Lyn by our mutual friend Cian Benoit, so long ago that neither she nor I could quite recall the year, but it was well over 13 years ago. She was a brassy, pushy, confident, head strong, loud, and one of the most annoying people I had ever met.. we hit it off instantly!

In the time that Tango Fleet was operational, she showed all who had the pleasure to play with her, just what a truly amazing talent she had for writing. I was fortunate to see her private writings, her stories, her poems. They were written with a skill I envied and admired in equal amounts. She brought a level of creativity to her work that few had, and truly loved what she wrote.

I did not have the pleasure of playing with her much via the PBERPG’s she was active on, she simmed with me on the USS Cambrian for a short period, and spent many hours trying to convince me to sim on her beloved USS Casey, (a task she never quite succeeded in accomplishing). Yet we worked together on many projects, both private and for Tango Fleet. Many late nights were had scheming and plotting, to bring the best gaming experience we could to our respective players, nights I know she spent with many others who gamed with her.

It was however, her passion for the players, her friends, and her family that always touched me the most. She could be ruthless, and scathing to those who crossed her, but more so if you hurt anyone she cared about. Yet in all the years we where friends, not once did we really argue, and I was blessed to see the soft caring side of this wonderful woman on more occasions that I can recall.

Her friends and family meant more to her than words can really say. For those of you in Sixth Fleet she called a friend, I know the loss you feel. Today I have wept, and will weep more for someone I love, and will miss my entire life.

I hope that as many of you had the pleasure of meeting her, as I did, and will remember her fondly.

For those of you who are friends with Lyn on facebook, you may have seen this statement from me today, but I wish to say it once more:

“You lived, you proposed, but sadly fate did not let you live long as it should.”

Angel, you will not be forgotten; you will always be in the hearts of those who loved you, none more so that you Husband Mark, and your loving family

Your friend Twiggy aka Steven J Marriott, formally of Tango Fleet =/\=

For those friends I have lost contact with who would like to contact me once more, please do so, it would be a pleasure to rekindle old friendships from such a tragic loss https://www.facebook.com/reaperthirteen

» Final Roll Call

Posted on Wed Nov 21st, 2012 @ 8:53am by Lieutenant Commander Hannah Conant in General News

Hey guys,

Sorry about not being able to post myself to push the story forward.  A combination of writers block and general RL busy-ness seemed to conspire against me.  C'est la vie.

At any rate, it's probably about time we spin down the Cambrian.  As such, I'd like to know who is left and willing to help write the Cambrian's final posts.  Please respond here with your character name if you're interested.

If all goes well, we should be able to get this wrapped up well before the December holidays.

Thanks,
-Sam

Hey all, just letting you know I haven't forgotten about you.  :)

I have a post idea brewing in my head, I just haven't had time to write in about a week.  Hopefully I can get something together by the weekend that should provide some action.  ;)

On that note, if your character is on the Bridge and care to join me in a JP, please send me a PM/email.  :D
